Free help for community groups! |
That’s the message from Community First New Forest, the Council for Voluntary Service for the area. Community First New Forest has helped over 200 local voluntary and community groups in the New Forest over the last year but they believe many more are unaware of the assistance available.
Charities supported by Community First New Forest have received valuable advice, information and practical help. Examples of the support provided include help with finding funding, assistance with grant applications, undertaking criminal record bureau checks, advice on setting up a local group and mini bus hire, to name but a few. All its services are free or at low cost - a real help in the current economic climate and quite a rarity.
Michael Clowes, Chief Executive, said: “At a time when the recession is affecting many charities, the services we offer can help to make a real difference. It can be difficult for people to know where to turn for advice and information.
Community First is appealing to all the local voluntary and community groups in the New Forest area to join the organisation free of charge and benefit from advice and practical help.” He added: “With its wealth of information and experience Community First can always point you in the right direction if we can’t help you ourselves.” |
