Volunteers’ Week is a national celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place from 1 to 7 June each year.
The themes of the week “Recognise, Reward and Recruit” highlight the contribution of the 20million+ people who give their time freely, while encouraging others to get involved in volunteering.
During the week Voluntary and community groups are encouraged to show their volunteers – and the general public – how important volunteering is to the community, to service users and to volunteers themselves.
This year, Hampshire Volunteer Centres are running a competition to find an eye-catching, thought-provoking poster slogan to encourage people of all ages to try volunteering.
A prize of £100 will be awarded to the winning slogan, with second and third prizes of £50 and £25 for the runners up.
The winning slogan will be used in a Hampshire Volunteer Centre Network poster campaign to promote volunteering across the county, which will be launched in Volunteers’ Week.
All three winning slogans will be used on the network’s website: www.hampshirevolunteers.org.uk.
Community First New Forest, who operates the New Forest Volunteer Centre, is asking voluntary and community groups across the Forest to submit entries.
Either post your entry to New Forest Volunteer Centre, Community First New Forest, Public Offices, 65 Christchurch Road, Ringwood BH24 1DH, email to vol.bureau@cfnf.org.uk or text to 07982 810140. The competition closing date is 30 April 2010. |
