New headquarters for New Forest charity

New Forest charity Community First New Forest has re-located to new offices.

Community First New Forest had been renting space at New Forest District Council’s offices in Ringwood.

With the imminent move of the council to the new Gateway building in Ringwood, Community First New Forest was in need of new premises.

The charity has moved to Archstone House, located in Pullman Business Park on the east side of Ringwood.

Chief Executive, Michael Clowes, explains,

“The new offices have enabled all the teams to work more closely together as previously staff were spread throughout the large Public Office building.  The design of the modern purpose built offices will assist us to be more efficient and effective, assisted by the use of up to date technology solutions.”  Michael adds, “This is a very positive move and will help us to continue to deliver excellent services that make a difference to the quality of life”.

Community First New Forest was established 23 years ago as a council for voluntary service (CVS) to support the voluntary and community sector in the New Forest.

There are CVSs throughout the country performing the same role in their locality.

The Voluntary & Community Services Team advises charities and community groups on issues such as funding, governance, training and business planning and aims to assist in the development of diverse, strong communities.

Community First New Forest also operates the New Forest Volunteer Centre.

Since its inception Community First New Forest has grown, in response to demand and now provides a range of support services.

These aim to make a difference towards quality of life to individuals who may be socially disadvantaged, vulnerable and isolated.

All services are either delivered free of charge or at a subsidised rate.

They include the Call & Go bus service, Wheels to Work moped loan scheme, the New Forest and Test Valley Home Improvement Agencies and Small Repairs Service, New Forest Nightstop and other services for children and young people.

Community First New Forest will continue to have a strong relationship and work in partnership with New Forest District Council as well as Hampshire County Council and local councils.

Community First New Forest’s Home Support Service, providing caring and sitting services to the elderly and disabled, will continue to operate out of their Totton offices.
