Community Buddies scheme Volunteers

The opportunity

There are lots of children and young people who have additional needs and require support to take part in activities that other young people can attend on their own.

The Community Buddies Programme will offer children and young people aged 7-19 with additional support needs an opportunity to be supported by a fully trained volunteer 'community buddy' giving the young person one-to-one support and encouragement to take part in activities that they are interested in; this can be anything from going to the cinema, shopping or attending a youth club.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals, aged 16+, to become Community Volunteer Buddies to support the children and young people to get involved in activities that are of interest to them.

We will be offering training to volunteers so we encourage interested individuals to come forward. Our main office is based in Ringwood and the Community Buddy Program will take place throughout New Forest. Contact tel. 075 084 01843.

A driving license is not essential but would be an excellent asset.

To become a Community Buddy you will need:

Enthusiasm, Patience and understanding
Ability to support and encourage children and young people
Willingness to undertake training to support the Buddy scheme

Times you can volunteer:

Community buddies can volunteer with hours to suit both volunteer and family needs

Carers needed for our Home Support Service

We operate a Home Support Service that provides high quality professional personal care and companionship to those living alone or who need someone with them while their usual carer or member of their family goes out.  We have over 14 years experience of providing care and sitting services.

This friendly service is looking to recruit carers for the areas of Lyndhurst, Hythe, Lymington, New Milton, Totton and Waterside.  We are also looking to recruit for weekend on-call.

Hours of work are by arrangement and we offer good rates of pay.

We also provide quality training, including NVQ’s and free CRB checks.

You will need to have your own transport for which we pay a mileage allowance.

If you would like to be part of a friendly team that helps people with quality of life please contact our Home Support team on 023 8066 7080.
