Donation to New Forest Autism Group

ASD New Forest, the Autistic Spectrum Disorders Group, run by Community First New Forest (in partnership with Pathways Children’s Centre) has been given a generous donation by TEDS.

Project Co-ordinator Carol Malky explains, “There is very little support available to parents when their child is diagnosed with ASD. We offer a forum for parents where they can assist each other.

We have held 11 meetings over the last year and the group is constantly growing with over 50 parents now registered in the Ringwood area alone.”

Carol added, “We have been told by parents that we are the only real help out there on this side of the Forest and therefore any financial help we can get to continue our work is very important.”

TEDS (Toys Exchange and Donate Scheme) was set up by two local mums, Dana Elsworth and Liz Wells, who run the scheme in order to benefit local charitable causes.

The TEDS scheme provides an innovative way of recycling and reusing children and baby toys, equipment and clothes.

TEDS regularly hold sales throughout Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, selling on donated goods.

A new charity, project or individual is chosen at each sale based on customer feedback and suggestions.

When TEDS heard about the new local group they were keen to offer their support.

The money was gratefully received and will be used towards ASD New Forest’s running costs.

Thank you to all our funders for their support, it is appreciated and is vital to our work and the difference we make together towards improving the quality of life of people in the New Forest. Please follow the link to see a list of our funders:
