Voluntary help at Christmas? This page was uploaded on: Thursday, 10-Nov-2011 12:22:10 GMT |
The New Forest Volunteer Centre is looking for organisations that need extra help over the festive period.
New Forest Volunteer Centre Co-ordinator, Hazel Dyson, says “Christmas is a time of giving, and many people look for something worthwhile and inspiring to do over the festive season, especially Christmas Day”.
Hazel is urging community and voluntary groups who need help to come forward. The New Forest Volunteer Centre has already received several enquiries from people who want to ‘get away from the TV and the turkey’ and Hazel says, “We would like to be able to signpost volunteers to organisations who need their help”.
Hazel believes there are lots of organisations who could do with assistance and suggests obvious examples as being groups who arrange Christmas lunches and parties.
She believes volunteering at Christmas is a win win situation and explains, “In return for getting some extra help you could be giving someone the chance to do something different and uplifting”.
If you are in need of helpers then get in touch with Hazel at the Volunteer Centre on 01425 482773 or email vol.bureau@cfnf.org.uk. |
