Community First New Forest’s Call and Go service into Totton on Wednesdays now includes picks ups from Lyndhurst.

Call and Go (formerly Dial a Ride) is a flexible bus scheme that operates throughout the week across the New Forest.

The majority of Call and Go services are shopping trips to local supermarkets.

Anyone can use Call and Go if their transport needs cannot be met by existing public transport.

The service aims to help people who live too far from a bus stop to be able to use it, those who have mobility issues or use a wheelchair which makes it difficult to get on or off public transport and parents with young children in a pushchair, which can present their own travelling difficulties.

Call and Go operates a fleet of fully equipped, wheelchair accessible minibuses, with caring drivers who are fully trained to transport passengers safely.

The Community First New Forest drivers, many of whom are volunteers, collect clients from their home, take them to the supermarket and return them to their front door assisting them to carry in their shopping if required.

Services cover the Waterside and Totton areas, coastal towns, the central New Forest and Fordingbridge area, giving a good spread of routes across the Forest.

Many clients of Call and Go have been using the service for over 10 years. For some it is their only opportunity to get out, according to a client recently, “Call and Go is my lifeline. I have no other means to do my shopping, a wonderful service”.

Community First New Forest is currently able to accept travel vouchers, obtainable from New Forest District Council, as well as cash, but not concessionary bus passes.
