Don’t do it campaign taken on by PCSOs/Sponsor soughtThis page was uploaded on: Tuesday, April 12, 2011 |
The campaign, aimed at helping children understand the consequences of committing vandalism, has already been delivered by ex school liaison officer PC Karen Kingsnorth to over 4000 school children.
PCSOs are now visiting year 6 pupils across the New Forest.
Part of the initiative has involved a competition for school children to design posters to illustrate the ‘don’t do it’ campaign.
Since the beginning of the scheme in 2008, three lucky youngsters from Ringwood, New Milton and Totton have won new bikes for their eye catching designs.
The youngster’s captivating art work has been displayed at police stations, libraries, leisure centres and public buildings across the New Forest.
The designs were chosen because of the colourful and informative way they bring home the message ‘don’t do it’!
In order to secure future prizes for this innovative project, organisers Hampshire Constabulary in partnership with Community First New Forest are hoping to find a sponsor who could donate a bicycle for potential winners.
The sponsor would be helping to give young people a greater awareness of what criminal damage is and its impact on the community.
If you would like to sponsor or donate to the ‘don’t do It’ campaign then contact Stephanie Bell at Community First New Forest on 01425 484719 or email stephanie.bell@nfdc.gov.uk |
