Tesco support New Forest Volunteer Centre Event date announced

Tesco of New Milton has awarded Community First New Forest £200 to go towards their annual volunteering recognition event. This event is to acknowledge and value the remarkable contribution that is made by many people who give their time freely across the New Forest.  It aims to highlight the importance of volunteering and the diverse ways volunteers help their communities.

This year’s New Forest Volunteer Centre Recognition event takes place on Monday 26 March at Hoburne Bashley.

The New Forest Volunteer Centre, run by Community First New Forest, promotes and supports volunteering in the New Forest.  It recruits potential volunteers from all sections of the community and seeks to place them with local organisations which are looking for volunteers to assist them with their work.  The Centre also offers advice, information and training to voluntary and community organisations which are using or considering using volunteers.

Steve Duffield, Tesco Store Manager said, "It is wonderful to be able to support a variety of great causes in and around our community.  To be able give back a little to those volunteers who give up their time so generously for such worthy causes, by rewarding them with recognition for all their hard work at this event, is very important to us and something we are all proud of".

If you are someone looking for an opportunity, or a voluntary organisation who works with volunteers, then register with the Volunteer Centre. Registration is simple, quick and free of charge.  Contact Sarah Suddrey, Volunteer Centre Co-ordinator on 01425 482773 or vol.bureau@cfnf.org.uk
