  • National Council for Voluntary Organisations
    Umbrella body for the voluntary(non-profit) sector in England. NCVO run the following useful online resources:

    Online best practice resource for the voluntary sector
  • Active Citizenship Centre
    Home Office web site which provides information on the range of ways in which citizens can 'take part'.

    Site aims to make it easier for voluntary and community organisations to asses whether or not they need professional help such as legal advice or management consultancy and if so, where they can access it.
  • Common Purpose
    An independent educational charity - which runs programmes to bring together tomorrow's decision makers from all walks of life - business, the public and the voluntary sectors.
  • Directory of Social Change
    Publish a wide range of literature and provide training courses on the management and finance of voluntary organisations. Also run the annual Charity Fair event.
  • Sandy Adirondack
    Freelance management and training consultant for the voluntary sector, includes a page of up-to-date legal information for voluntary organisations.
  • The Media Trust
    The Media Trust is a charity which works in partnership with the media industry to meet the communications needs of the voluntary sector. One of the services the Media Trust offers is The Media Resource which identifies the skills of media professionals and matches these with the communications needs of voluntary organisations.
