Working with parents and carers for children from The Schools of Arnewood.
Who are we?
Parent Support Advisors are there to support you and your child to get the very best from your school by providing support, advice and information. A Parent Support Advisor will help you with any worries you may have about your child’s behaviour or attendance, and provide support on how best to deal with it.
Why might you need to use Parent Support Advisor?
My child’s behaviour is getting out of hand.
I have got lots of questions about being a parent.
I am worried about the next parents' evening.
I just need someone I can talk to.
Since my partner left things haven’t been the same.
What do we do?
We work together with schools to help and support parents and carers in their role as parents.
We do this by:
Working with parents and carers to try to help with issues around their children’s behaviour or school attendance.
Helping parents and carers with other parenting issues.
Working in partnership with parents and carers and their children’s schools, and helping access any further services a family may need.
Working with parents and carers to try to make sure that children are getting the most out of school and are safe and happy.
How do we do this?
We offer one-to-one support.
We listen to parents and carers and give confidential support and guidance.
We give a chance to meet with other parents and carers and socialise.
We provide information about other relevant services.
We run parenting courses.
We can put parents and carers in touch with support groups.
"I would like to know who else I can talk to about how my situation has changed."
