A Credit Union is a locally run non-profit making financial co-operative run by its members for its members.

The Waterside Credit Union was set up in 1998 and is run to provide low cost finance and saving facilities for ALL who live OR work in the Waterside area; Marchwood, Hythe, Hardley, Holbury, Netley View, Blackfield, Fawley, and Calshot.

Currently there are Collection points in Hythe, Marchwood, Blackfield and Netley View.

People must save for 10 weeks after which they can apply for a loan. Repayment is made with low interest added.

Anne Harris, the community development worker will be working with the Management Committee to bring in more people to help run the Credit Union and to spread the word of its benefits.
