Care and Repair

New Forest Care and Repair is a non-profit home improvement agency that supports older people, people with a disability or on low incomes to repair, improve or adapt their home. The service is managed by Community First, New Forest and covers the whole of the New Forest district. 

The key aim of New Forest Care & Repair is to support people with continued independence in their home. Here the staff work in partnership with clients and offer a professional, confidential and supportive service.

The agency has two main areas in supporting people, these are:
  1. Help with identifying and organising works to the home and, if required, exploring options to pay for the works. This may include a grant from the council, a loan, private finance, or charitable trust.
  2. Linking people to services that can help them to continue to live independently in their home. Examples here include : gardeners, decorators, electricians, domestic help, shopping, personal care , handy persons and plumbers.

Alongside these activities New Forest Care & Repair provides guidance and help with home safety and also options towards making the home a warmer place.
