Walks

Library – walk 1

Distance: 1.25 miles, duration: 25 mins, condition: mostly pavements and quiet paths

The route – this walk starts at the library and continues down to Bickerley Common, along a section of the Castleman Trail, back over the common passing the Pocket Park, recently landscaped to allow new access and continues into the western section of the town before turning back to Bickerley Road and the library.

 

Ringwood Health Centre – walk 2

Distance: 1.5miles, duration: 30mins, condition: mostly along pavements and quiet roads

The route – the walk starts from Ringwood Health Centre in the Close and takes you out of the town along Hightown Road and back towards the town centre along Castleman Way where the station once could be seen before the Beeching cuts. The route takes you back passing some of the older buildings in the town with new thatches and on towards Greyfriars 'the showpiece among Ringwood houses' which dates back to the 18th century, passing the Memorial gardens before returning back to the Health Centre.

 

Cornerways Medical Centre – walk 3

Distance: 2.25miles, duration: 45mins, condition: generally good, but could become muddy in some places.

The route – the walk starts at Cornerways Surgery in Gorley Road and takes you to those parts of Ringwood you may not have been before, passing Poulner Lakes across a grass field passing Wash Pit Lake returning through the western part of the town and back to the Cornerways Surgery.
