Oxfam in Lymington is desperately seeking volunteers for their newly opened shop with a difference.

This is a great opportunity to volunteer in a new Oxfam shop that is aiming to create a slightly different experience for the customer!

You will be joining a small but growing team helping us to make the most from donations; offering fantastic customer service as well as sorting, pricing and preparing for sale a wide range of products.

As we grow our team our opening hours will increase.

Eventually we hope to open 7 days a week - 8 hours per day Monday - Saturday and 6 hours on Sunday, however your gift of time can be arranged to suit you as well as the needs of our business.

Whatever your interest, from customer facing to sorting stock please do get in touch.

Your help will make a real difference.

We have 2 opportunities for School Governors within our Federation. We are currently a team of 10 volunteers who provide support and critical analysis to the Senior Leadership Team at Wildground. We run a flat governance body which means we discuss all areas of school business as a team instead of having sub-committees. We meet once a month on a Thursday where we discuss all areas of running the school including analysing budget, HR matters, data in attainment figures and progression figures. We discuss how the curriculum is delivered and monitor the impact on delivery decisions. We each have an area of school life to learn about and become an Expert in and we receive valuable support and training from Hampshire Governor Services to help us achieve this. Being a school governor is incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. If you feel you could provide this federation of schools the benefit of your expertise and enthusiam please do get in touch.

Skills

We are looking for people that do not have children within our schools (as we need a mix of parent and non parent governors). We need enthusiastic people willing to give time to training as well as our meetings and a few visits. All areas of governance is covered by the training provided, so prior experience is not necessary; we need people that have an analytical mind and like to speak out in meetings and ask challenging questions, the rest can be learned.
