Oxfam in Lymington is desperately seeking volunteers for their newly opened shop with a difference.

This is a great opportunity to volunteer in a new Oxfam shop that is aiming to create a slightly different experience for the customer!

You will be joining a small but growing team helping us to make the most from donations; offering fantastic customer service as well as sorting, pricing and preparing for sale a wide range of products.

As we grow our team our opening hours will increase.

Eventually we hope to open 7 days a week - 8 hours per day Monday - Saturday and 6 hours on Sunday, however your gift of time can be arranged to suit you as well as the needs of our business.

Whatever your interest, from customer facing to sorting stock please do get in touch.

Your help will make a real difference.

Walking in the Rain – a celebration of Walk Leaders

walking in the rain

On a rainy Monday afternoon in October most people might be be put off by a walk across open ground and through the trees.

Healthy Walk volunteers proved that they are always ready to walk, whatever the weather.

After much planning, the walk that had been set was abandoned for a drier shorter route.

Eighteen volunteer Walk Leaders met at Mill Lawn car park in Burley for their annual celebration walk.

Despite it being wet under foot, spirits were far from dampened.

Walkers chatted as they stepped over and walked through puddles.

At the end they felt invigorated and ready for a luscious cream tea at the Cider Pantry in Burley.

Healthy Walks take place across the New Forest and additional volunteers are being sought to help out with the expanding numbers of walkers.

There is a surge in numbers particularly in Fordingbridge and New Milton.

Jan Barratt, Healthy Walks Administrator would be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to know more about the walks or would like to consider volunteering as a leader or assistant leader with one of the existing walks.

Contact Jan at Community First New Forest, 01425 482773 or healthywalks@cfnf.org.uk.
