What we do
This service supports older people in the New Forest to remain safe and independent in their own homes.
How we help you
We provide a truly flexible and holistic service that will be tailor-made to suit you and the lifestyle you choose.
We will help you to:
- Maintain your independence
- Achieve economic wellbeing
- Achieve health and wellbeing
- Enjoy yourself
- Be a part of your community
We will visit you at home to assess your needs and agree a support plan with you. We will review this regularly to ensure you are getting the service you want. You can mix and match the options if you wish. We will work with you to decide how much support you choose to have.
We offer 3 ways to support you.
Option 1
This is regular support, examples of how we can help you are:
- Benefits advice
- Housing/tenancy related advice
- Exploring your housing options
- Providing a home safety check
- Arrange a community alarm
- Organising home repairs and adaptations to your home
- Helping you to access local social groups and events
- Arranging community transport
- Keeping you in touch with friends and relatives
- Supporting your health needs
- Arranging any care needs/home help
Option 2
- Occasional help, such as:
- Receiving a weekly telephone call from us
- Information on a subject
- Helping you to resolve any problems that crop up
Option 3
Option 3 can be agreed where our direct support has stopped and you would like to have the option to be able to call us for support in the future. This means that we would respond to future support needs.
What does it cost?
This service is free for the first 12 weeks and will include all of Option 1. After 12 weeks:
- Option 1 will be charged at £14.50 per hour.
- Option 2 is a lower level of support and will be charged at £2.50 per week.
- Option 3 is a low level charge of £1.35 per week; this gives you peace of mind to contact us on future support needs.
This gives you the chance to see if you are happy with the support and establish how much or little support you need. After 12 weeks, you may have to pay an hourly rate but if you are in receipt of a means tested benefit such as council tax benefit or pension credits, you will continue to receive the service free of charge.
