Would you like the chance to volunteer at the 2012 Olympics?

Community First New Forest’s Volunteer Centre is advising New Forest residents that applications to volunteer at the London 2012 Olympics are now open.

Volunteers, to be known as ‘London 2012 Games Makers’ are being recruited from across the UK.

Hazel Dyson, Co-ordinator at the New Forest Volunteer Centre says, “You could be one of the faces of London 2012, with the chance to show what the UK is all about: excellence, passion and positivity.

Set against this truly inspirational backdrop you will build new friendships, develop skills and play an integral role at the heart of the largest event ever staged in the UK.”

Volunteers are given an official uniform which they can keep after the Games as a souvenir. They will also receive free meal vouchers to redeem during their shifts.

Hazel adds, “Being a Games Maker is focused very much on the summer of 2012” and suggests, “If you can't wait that long to start volunteering, why not get involved now in one of the many volunteering opportunities in your local area?”
