What we do
Better Lives is a membership service assisting people over 55, single parent families, disabled people and those on low incomes to access reliable and vetted tradespeople for non-urgent work. We also provide opportunities for socialising by joining our trips and outings by minibus.

We arrange door-to-door trips and outings by minibus to a pre-arranged programme of destinations.
How we can help you
We contact tradespeople on your behalf to ask them to arrange a visit with you at your convenience.
Practical Services
We will:
- Be there at the end of the telephone when you need to find a handyman, decorator or gardener
- Take the worry out of finding good reliable and vetted tradespeople
- Contact the contractor to provide you with a free quote
- Ensure there are no call out charges
- Invoice you directly and pay the contractor on your behalf
- Ask for feedback and act on any concerns or complaints and deal with them appropriately
Transport Services
We will:
- Pre arrange pick up times
- Provide a door to door service
- We will provide at least one wheelchair user place per trip if required
- Arrange affordable trips to events and outings
- Provide a wide range of choice and you can join in with as many as you wish, subject to capacity
- Book a place, where required, for your paying companion
- Ask for feedback and act on any concerns or complaints and deal with them appropriately
What does it cost?
Membership is £30 including VAT per year.
Contractor costs are charged at an agreed hourly rate.
Transport costs are dependent on individual trips. However, refreshments, admission and entrance fees and tickets are purchased by the client directly with the venue.
Where we provide the services
The service is provided to residents in the New Forest area.
Our commitment
All staff and tradespeople are DBS checked. All tradespeople are vetted through police checks and references and insurances and certificates authenticated by Better Lives.

- To pay by cheque please post back to us with your membership form.
