Ringwood Good Neighbours group are urgently in need of some help

The group aren’t able to continue running without the support of volunteer coordinators. If you have a few hours to spare a month, would you be able to help co-ordinating the befriending scheme in the BH24 area?

This is a varied and interesting role which includes:

  • Helping to ensure training needs of volunteers are met
  • Assess clients and match them with a befriender
  • Listening and supporting the volunteers regarding their befriending role
  • Deal with volunteer expenses
  • Compile a list of local activities and support groups for the use of befrienders wishing to recommend additional social contact to clients

Drivers for
New Milton Neighbourcare

We are looking for people to join our friendly team of drivers. Volunteering with us you will use your own car to take clients to their medical appointments at local hospitals, clinics and doctors' surgeries. You can chose whether you drive locally or further afield to Southampton and Bournemouth.

As a volunteer all of your expenses will be met by the charity including mileage and parking.

Assistant at the Evergreen Club

Can you brighten the lives of older people in your local community? We have twice monthly meetings with a mix of speakers and social afternoons with a quiz, bingo and a raffle. There's always tea and cake half way through and occasional outings person who is fit enough to help with setting out tables and chairs and to generally assist with activities.

School Governors urgently needed

We are looking for people that do not have children within our schools (as we need a mix of parent and non parent governors). We need enthusiastic people willing to give time to training as well as our meetings and a few visits. All areas of governance is covered by the training provided, so prior experience is not necessary; we need people that have an analytical mind and like to speak out in meetings and ask challenging questions, the rest can be learned.

Debra Charity Shop, Ringwood

Do you live in Ringwood and have a few hours to spare each week?

If so, the Debra Charity shop would love to hear from you.

It is currently in urgent need of shop volunteers for all roles including sorting donations, hanging donated clothes, steaming clothes, sorting Bric a Brac, as well as Front of House duties such as store greeter and sales assistant positions.

Families Matter: Puppet Stage and Sound Crew

Praisin' Hands Puppets based at Hythe URC is looking for 2 people with strong muscles to load and lift equipment from the van, set up the stage, watch the very entertaining children's puppet show and then dismantle the stage and load up the equipment.

Any expertise/experience in sound desk/lighting would be valuable, but not required.

This will be in local Primary schools around once a week (days vary) in the mornings from around 7am to 11am.

The puppet presentations are hugely popular and hundreds of children get to enjoy them each year.

They teach topics such as road safety, stranger danger and safe use of the internet.

Welcome Museum Volunteers Wanted

Rockbourne Roman Villa, near Fordingbridge, is actively seeking new people to become Welcome Museum Volunteers

This is a public-facing role which plays an important part in caring for Hampshire’s ancient heritage and making the Villa accessible.

As a volunteer, you would be responsible for welcoming visitors to the site and assisting with providing customer service, care and security for the benefit of both visitors and the local community.

Rockbourne Roman Villa is open until the end of October and would love to hear from you this season. They offer an induction and training for all volunteers over 16s, as well as guidance and support at all times.
